One of the most prestigious awards WCA gives to its members is the Contractor of the Year Award.
This award honors a contractor or member company who has demonstrated exceptional skill, integrity and leadership and has devoted extraordinary time and resources for the betterment of his or her peers, the construction industry, WCA and the AGC of America.
It gives me great pleasure and pride to announce that this year, we are honoring McGarvin-Moberly Construction Company as the 2015 Contractor of the Year.
The company started as a small parking lot paving and gravel crushing contractor in 1963, based in the Big Horn Basin. Growing steadily over the years, they entered the WYDOT highway asphalt paving market in the late 1960s and over the past four decades, McGarvin-Moberly Construction Company has been able to increase its productivity and efficiencies, and thus sharpen their competitive advantage in the asphalt paving market.
The success of the company can be found in their exceptional skill, integrity and pride in their operations and their desire to continually explore new markets for their services. Their success is also clearly due to the commitment of the current Board of Directors – President Philip Caines, Executive Vice President Gary Bertsch, Secretary/Vice President Ernie Skretteberg and Partner Kevin Craft.
These men have a management style that has put their employees in a position to be successful. By entrusting employees to make decisions, an atmosphere has been created which leads to McGarvin-Moberly Construction Company’s success and also personal success for their employees.
Not only are these individuals dedicated to the success of their company, they are some of the Wyoming Contractors Association’s most committed members and biggest cheerleaders. If the Association needs something done, you know these gentlemen will be the first ones there to lend a hand.
Not only did Ernie serve as the 2009 WCA President, he also has volunteered his time on several WCA committees over the years and currently serves as an AGC National Governor. Phil has long been involved in the Association and will take up the reigns as our 2016 President. We owe them a debt of gratitude because they have been integral to the continued success of the Wyoming Contractors Association.
Please join me in honoring McGarvin-Moberly Construction Company with your applause as the 2015 WCA Contractor of the Year.
